Principal Landscape Architect

Hsiaochien Chuang is the founder of Studio H2 and a California-licensed landscape architect with over 20 years of experience in Bay Area landscape design.​

Originally from Taiwan, Hsiaochien brings a strong foundation in horticultural interests to her work. She earned her master's degree in Landscape Architecture in Upstate New York before relocating to California in 2004, where she worked with respected landscape architecture firms in Marin and San Francisco on a wide range of hospitality, institutional, and residential projects.

In 2016, she shifted her focus to residential design and founded Studio H2, a boutique practice dedicated to creating thoughtful, site-responsive landscapes. She brings a positive, hands-on energy to each project, engaging clients in a collaborative design process that explores the relationship between architecture, landscape, material expression, and the experience of outdoor living.
